Befriending the Dark
Join Gina Hughes of Invitation Yoga, 500 CYT, and Alyssa Booth, LCSW, for Befriending the Dark, an evening of restorative candlelit movement, reflection, and creative ritual inspired by the longest night of the year. Together, we’ll explore how the darkness within and around us can serve as a teacher, guiding us towards deeper self-awareness and healing.
Through gentle, restorative movement practiced in darkness, you’ll be invited to turn inward to listen to your inner voice, the quiet light that always remains. Alyssa will lead a reflective teaching on Parts Work, exploring how our shadows and hidden parts can become allies rather than adversaries.
We’ll close with a mindful mini mala-making ritual, stringing black and white semi-precious stones to symbolize the balance of light and dark, the wholeness that emerges when we welcome every part of ourselves.
Date: Friday, December 12
Time: 6:30-8pm, doors open at 6:15pm
Location: Nourish Healing Collective
221 W Rhapsody Dr. Unit 101 San Anotnio, TX
Free parking located in the front and back of the building.
What to Bring:
Please wear comfortable clothing.
All yoga materials including mats, blankets, eye masks, and bolsters will be provided.
Optional journal for self-reflection.
Pre-registration required; limited spaces available.
Meet your facilitators:
Alyssa Booth is a Licensed Therapist and Women’s Empowerment Specialist who helps high-functioning women who look fine but feel fried — the ones who can’t sit still without spiraling and manage everyone else’s needs while neglecting their own — create a life free from the pressure to do it all and be it all. Through deep nervous system healing, identity work, and real-life integration, she helps overwhelmed women release the need to prove and perform so they can finally feel grounded, steady, and regulated.
Gina Hughes is passionate about helping people find calm, balance, and well-being in their daily lives. As a yoga and stress management specialist, Gina creates personalized experiences for private groups and individual students, meeting each person exactly where they are. With over 500 hours training in adaptive yoga and related modalities, Gina is dedicated to making every practice accessible, no matter your age, background, or experience level.
