Side crow yoga pose at the Japanese Tea Gardens in San Antonio, TX

Gina first began her journey into the world of yoga in 2012 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, practicing in the late evenings after working as a middle school teacher. She started out in search of an activity to help her manage stress and to engage in self-care, and she quickly fell in love with the full yogic experience of breathwork, poses, and meditation.

She began her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2022 and has been passionately involved in education, event-planning, and fine arts for almost two decades. Prior to studying yoga, one of Gina’s first loves was art. She spent the majority of her middle and high school years taking classes in watercolor, drawing, and photography, winning several awards along the way.

In college, she channeled her creative nature into event planning and was chosen to work as a Commuter Assistant, supporting commuting students and planning monthly events to help them feel at home on campus. After graduation, she taught middle school English and social studies for seven years, stopping only to homeschool her two young children. Through the Waldorf Method, Gina incorporated art into her children’s schooling, and she learned artistic techniques using resin, beeswax, wool roving, and other natural materials.

During her time as a stay-at-home parent, she founded and led the North Shore Attachment Parenting Group in the Chicago suburbs, where she facilitated meetings and events for parents and children.

After moving to Texas in 2018, she took on the leadership role of event planning for the Stone Valley Community in Stone Oak, coordinating seasonal and holiday events for over 150 families.

During her yoga teacher training, Gina sought a way to combine her love for yoga, art, and event planning, and Invitation Yoga & Events was born. Not only does Gina incorporate physical poses but also designs a full event experience and facilitates the creation of artistic gems to take home.

Her hope for her clients is that they feel deeply cared for and guided to tap into their expressive sides while connecting with others sharing in their experience.
